Hello, my name is Cynthia Hall and I live in Sacramento, CA. I am married to the love of my life Artie Hall and have a 14 year old son who is a freshman in High School. I have stage 5 chronic kidney disease/end stage kidney failure which means my kidneys are severely damaged and can no longer perform as they should. I need a kidney transplant, and preferably from a living donor. The situation is urgent since the wait for a kidney from a deceased donor takes several years. My husband and family tried to be a living donor but they were denied. Doctors advised that I will be on Peritoneal Dialysis soon when my next lab results come back lower. I would be hooked up to a Peritoneal Dialysis which inserted into the abdominal to remove waste out of my body in order to survive. That would run between 6-10 hours every day. I would like to avoid dialysis since the doctors are advising me that getting a transplant and avoiding dialysis is much better for me in the long run. Dialysis presents challenges for those who are on it and I hope to avoid this entirely. I’ve been on a very strict diet for years now to try and prolong the life of my kidneys. Unfortunately, a healthy diet and lifestyle can’t keep my kidneys from failing to the point they are at now, which is kidney failure. From the bottom of my heart, I would be forever grateful if a living kidney donor was found for me. I promise I would continue to eat a healthy diet and live a healthy lifestyle to ensure I was taking the best possible care of my new kidney. Life is precious and I don’t take it lightly. My clock is ticking as each day passes by and I make sure to live each day to the fullest. I want to be able to see my son graduate from high school, go to college, get married, and be with him. I want to live my best life, to continue my love journey and grow old with my husband. I hope to share our stories to our grandkids someday. I want to be there with my family and friends, to create and cherish many more memories. I would be so thankful if you would share my story with all your family and friends with the hope of finding a living donor. I am registered at Univ. of California Davis Hospital kidney transplant division.
Required next steps for a potential donor are:
1) Complete the donor questionnaire on UC Davis website. Here is link - https://ucdavislivingdonor.org/
2) After you complete questionnaire, you should hear back from the UC Davis Medical Team in 2-3 days.
3) The UC Davis Medical Team will explain the next steps and answer all your questions about living kidney donation.
If you'd like to learn more about the entire living kidney donor process, click on the link below.

When filling out the questionnaire, it will ask you to choose either ‘named recipient’ or ‘altruistic’. Choose ‘named recipient’ and then on the next page you would put my name, Cynthia Hall. Fortunately, due to my blood type, I can accept a kidney FROM ANY BLOOD TYPE (see the informational video page on this website for more info about blood types).
Thank you so much for listening to my story.
With all love and appreciation, Cynthia Hall
